Charmaine Williams
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Charmaine Williams, SPHR, currently serves as the vice president of human resources for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. She was hired in July 2002 as the director of human resources and was appointed head of the department shortly after one year with the organization. Charmaine has 16 years of experience in the human resources field, with 13 of those years in a supervisory or management capacity.
As the head of human resources for the Y, Charmaine is a member of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago's senior management team. Directing a department of eight employees, including a director of employment and two regional human resources managers, her department services over 800 full-time employees and 2,400 part-time and seasonal employees throughout Chicagoland, as well as at camps in Wisconsin and Michigan.
Prior to joining the YMCA, Charmaine held HR leadership positions in both not-for-profit and private organizations, which included Fortune 150 companies. Her past experience encompasses generalist as well as specialist work in the areas of employee/labor relations, employment/staffing, benefits and compensation, training, career development, college relations, and mergers and acquisitions.
Charmaine holds a master's degree in human resources management from Keller Graduate School of Business as well as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certificate from the Society of Human Resources Professionals.
