"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill
The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is here. For some of our community members, the holidays can be a tough season filled with financial worry or even loneliness. At the Kroehler Y, we support our local community with unique holiday programs. Please consider donating your time or resources to one of them.
Angel Tree Holiday gift program - donations accepted through 12/12/16
Every year, our YMCA members that are currently receiving scholarship assistance are invited to be Angel Tree holiday gift recipients. We ask families to turn in wish lists for the children under 18 in their household. The wish lists include necessities such as winter clothing/outerwear as well as toys and games. We ask donors to spend up to $50 per wish list they take. Wish lists will be available the week of Thanksgiving. Please consider sponsoring a child this year or working with friends to fulfill a child's wish list.
Community Christmas Luncheon for Seniors and Families in Need - 12/25/16
The Naperville YMCAs, in collaboration with the Naperville Park District, are happy to once again offer the Community Christmas Luncheon for Seniors and Families in need. Thanks to the generosity of community families, this luncheon is provided to those in need free of charge. This event offers a warm holiday meal and entertainment to seniors who might otherwise be alone for the holidays and to families who may be struggling to feed their families. We are in need of volunteers to assist with serving lunch, visiting with the attendees and more. The volunteer commitment is approximately 2.5 hours on Christmas Day beginning at about 11:30 am.
