Sports Skill Classes for Fall 2017

All classes promote competing in a fun and friendly environment. We focus on concepts of sportsmanship and teamwork while teaching kids to love sports and develop strong skills.

Basketball Level 1: Beginner

Mondays 4:30-5:15pm Ages 3-5 $48m/$63nm

This class is designed to work on the fundamentals of basketball such as passing, dribbling and movement. These classes will focus on hand-eye coordination and introduce the ideas of sportsmanship and team play.

Basketball Level 2: Intermediate

Wednesday 5:15-6:00pm Ages 6-10 $55m/$90nm

This is a great option for player that want to hone in on their skills, open to all skills levels. YMCA Sports staff will build upon the basic skills of the game. Practicing skills such as dribbling, shooting, and passing. Participants will also be introduced to the offensive and defensive drills.

Flag Football Level 1: Beginner

Wednesdays 6:00-6:45pm Ages 3-5 $55m/$90nm

Flag football is designed for players to be introduced to the sport of football. Our focus will be on the fundamentals such as passing, catching and running with the ball. As well as basic rules of the game.

Flag Football Level 2: Intermediate

Fridays 6:00-6:45pm Ages 6-10 $55m/$90nm

Offense, defense and team play will be the focus while skills of passing, catching and blocking will be incorporated. Drills and team play will be utilized.

Soccer Level 1: Beginner

Mondays 5:15-6:00pm Ages 3-5 $48m/$63nm

Our focus will be on the fundamentals of the game. Basic skills such as kicking, passing, and stopping the ball will be taught. We will also teach the basic rules of soccer.

Soccer Level 2: Intermediate

Wednesdays 4:30-5:15pm Ages 6-10 $55n/$90nm

Soccer 2 will build on what is taught in level 1. Participants will develop more control of the ball while passing, dribbling and kicking. We will also introduce game concepts such as offense and defense.

Sports Leagues

Start October 14th (8 weeks)

Youth Basketball Leagues

Our leagues focus on developing your child’s skills and overall enjoyment for the sport of basketball. Teams will have experienced and trained coaches for all age levels. All teams will have one set practice night per week and one game a week on Saturdays with a playoff tournament at the end of the session (8 games, plus playoffs). Practice schedules will be announced. All teams will be guaranteed one practice the week prior to the league starting games.

Youth Flag Football League

Our focus is on football education, participation, teamwork and sportsmanship. This is a co-ed league design for those new to the game of flag football or those that are not ready for tackle football.

Youth Volleyball League

This league is designed to focus on the skills of the game. Skilled coaches will teach players serving, passing, setting and the rules of the game. Teams will have one practice per week and games are played on Sunday afternoons.
