Community Outreach

Our mission doesn't live in a building. It's far too big and too important to be confined to just one place. Day in and day out, we're out there, in the community, helping kids and families, one at a time.

YMCA Family Resource Centers

These programs focus on creating a safe and healthy environment for young people, building strong families and strengthening community ties. During regular program hours at the Centers, we focus on helping students complete and turn-in homework, have a healthy snack that falls within YMCA's nutritional guidelines, and work on character developing activities. Each month we have a scheduled family trip. These trips are designed for families of the participants to go out as a family as well as being an opportunity for families in a community to get to know wone another. Families must show a financial need, generally by applying for the free and reduced lunch program through the schools, and reside within specific school boundaries.

We have qualified staff at each of our locations. If you are looking for an enriching experience, consider volunteering at one of these programs. You will work with a child that needs one-on-one help with homework, or with a small group of children to work on character development. You will make a difference in a child's life! School served are Scott Elementary, Madison Junior High School in Naperville School District 203, and Georgetown Elementary School in Indian Prairie School District 204.
