Using a sophisticated system of springs, straps and pulleys, a reformer allows instructors to utilize over 100 unique exercises to deliver amazing results! The reformer uses a moving platform on which one can sit, kneel, stand or lie on their front, back or side. The user pushes and pulls off a stationary bar using his or her arms, legs, wrists and ankles to slide back and forth along rails. This is done in a controlled manner, using tension springs to work specific muscles.
This highly effective, no impact exercise method focuses on "core" muscles that will help you burn calories and define your muscles. Pilates will shape and lengthen the entire body, while strengthening the lower back and joints. The Fry Family YMCA uses only state-of-the-art Pilates Reformer machines with certified instructors who have extensive training.
Each class is 50 minutes long. We offer Indiviaual and Group Sessions in packages of 6, 12 or 24.
