It is the responsibility of each skater to call the ICE RINK HOTLINE one hour before scheduled activity to check ice conditions.  A heavy snowfall, rain or abnormally warm or cold weather may cause cancellation.

SPRING HOCKEY LEAGUE

The Elmhurst YMCA will be conducting an eight week spring hockey session starting on March 23rd and ending on May 19th. The league will play at the Carol Stream Ice Arena,
which is approximately nine miles west of the Y. Games will be played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons/early evenings. There will be no weekday practice.
MEMBERS $175 NON-MEMBERS $215
 
To keep the cost down, we will not be providing jerseys. All players should bring a light and dark jersey and we will provide penny pullovers. The spring league is a no check house league geared toward the house league player. Please note there will be no games on March 30th or 31st (Easter weekend).
 
* New This Season Kenny McCudden Clinic Included with your Spring Hockey Well known Skating/Hockey Instructor Kenny McCudden will conduct a clinic on either April 27 or May 5.
His sold out hockey clinics this past winter break were a huge success and we are honored to have him back this spring. This clinic is included in your Spring Hockey Registration fee.
 
Space is limited so please sign up early. Players should sign up for the division they will be playing in next fall.

NEW! Midget Hockey

Elmhurst Y no check Rat Hockey for Midget Aged players 16 to 17 year old starting on Thursday, January 10th.

The Midgets will play every Thursday afternoon from 4:00-5:00pm for 8 straight weeks.  The program will run from Thursday, January 10 through February 28th.

This program is geared toward the players who have aged out of the Elmhurst Y youth House league. 

If the program is a success we will do a second session from March – May at an indoor ice arena.

Registration is limited so sign up today!  Please sign up at the Y front desk.  Please Note: Parents will need to register their players as we will need 2 forms signed and all fees need to be paid up front.

CHECK OUT THE SCHEDULES FOR THE YOUTH HOCKEY LEAGUE 2012-2013

The YMCA Youth Hockey League is no check and is designed to teach the great game of hockey to boys and girls age 6-15. The emphasis is on improving the player's skills and having fun! All games and practices are played at the Elmhurst YMCA. Practices during the week and games are on Saturday or Sundays.  Best value in youth hockey!

Wait List Policy

We currently are waitlisted for PeeWees and Bantams.  In order to go on the wait list you need to do the following:

- Must fill out paperwork and bring it to the front desk so you can get your name on the wait list.

- There is no online registration available.

- No deposit or payment needed to go on the waitlist

- If you are put on the waitlisat you should not come to the evaluations until you are called by Bill Gorey, Hockey Director.  Bill will call you if he has room for you on a team, no need to call him.

SCOOTERS PRE-HOCKEY

An introduction to hockey fun for both boys and girls. A YMCA staff directed curriculum of learning and fun with an emphasis on beginning hockey skating and stick skills. Child must be able to skate forward. Required equipment: hockey skates, heavy gloves, regulation helmet with a face mask and hockey stick.

Skate Rental for Skate school classes $1 per child per class.

Alpha (age 6-13): Must pass the pre-alpha test and consistently be able to march, glide on one and two feet, do backward wiggles and forward and backward swizzles.

Beta (age 6-13): Must pass the alpha test and consistently do backward stroking, forward left and right crossovers and a snowplow stop.
