What Our Happy Campers (& their Parents) Have to Say

  • Last summer was my son's first experience. We had heard wonderful things from a family friend and decided to try it. During the summer, my son had an amazing time going on adventures and I loved him being outside all day. The Camp Duncan staff always communicated with me if I ever had any concerns or questions.

  • The experience of being both a camper and a staff member at Camp Duncan has had an immeasurably positive impact on my life. From making friends from all over the world to learning skills like leadership, adaptability, and empathy, so much of who I am today is influenced by my years at camp. As a kid every year, I had my suitcase packed for camp in February! As a staff member, I always had a countdown until the first day of staff training on my phone.
    - Samantha J.
  • Camp Duncan has been a fantastic way for my son who struggles with ADHD to be able to participate and feel included. We have had issues with other summer programs, but the Inclusion team at the Y is amazing and gave counselors the tools they needed to work with my son's needs. I'm extremely happy with my experience here.
    - Ashley J.
  • I was a little concerned that my daughter would be homesick while away at camp and that she might become sad. When camp was over, there were certainly tears in her eyes — she had been crying because she didn’t want camp to be over! If I had to see tears, these particular ones made me smile.

  • Our son had a wonderful first time experience at camp. His counselors were first-rate role models and “very cool,” as were his cabin mates. As parents, we felt our son had a wholesome experience — it left us nostalgic for our Y-camp days.

  • I am so grateful that my children had the opportunity because of donors to attend their first overnight camp — their first camp, in fact. They have grown in so many ways due to this camp: the socialization, friendships, and so much more! This camp has truly made my boys learn to be better for themselves for their future. Thank you so much!

  • My Grandpa treated my brother and I to yearly summer camp every year. We attended Camp Duncan and loved the experience. It gave us the courage to have independence without our parents and grow in character. The programs, events, and energies were always so much fun. I cried going because of the anxiety of leaving my parents, and I cried leaving because I made so many connections and friends and had so much fun!
