Free Swim Assessment

Are you unsure what level swim lessons your child needs? Now there are no more questions! Stop by for a FREE swim assessment. Assessments given by a qualified swim instructor. No appointment necessary. These are on Saturdays from 12:30-1pm.

Private/Semiprivate Lessons

Private and semiprivate lessons are 30 minutes. Semiprivate lessons are for two swimmers of similar ability, taught at the same time. You are responsible for finding your own semiprivate partner.

Lessons are schedule by appointment only. If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment please call and let the teacher know.

The first stop is to complete the private lesson form, available at the Member Services Desk. Here you can request a day, time and/or teacher. You will be contacted by phone when an available teacher is matched to your availability. Lessons are for ages 4-Adult.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding

(Age 15+, coed) Earn your American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at the Buehler YMCA. Participants must pass a 300-yard swim test on the first day of class. Certification is not guaranteed as a result of taking class. You must pass all skills and written exam. Class meets in the Old Office.

Adult Swim Instruction

Adult Beginner: This is for individuals age 16+ who have either not had formal swim lessons, are not comfortable in the water or know very little swimming technique. The class will focus on water adjustment and the basic fundamentals of front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, sidestroke and breaststroke.

Adult Intermediate: This is for swimmers age 16+ who are comfortable in the water and know the fundamentals of swimming. The class will focus on strengthening the front crawl and back crawl, intense work on sidestroke and breaststroke, and the introduction of the butterfly.
