Help Us Support Chicago Youth at the Story Squad Showcase

March 07, 2017

Youth and teens in YSVP's Story Squad program will share their stories on Tuesday, March 21."

Young people are experts in their neighborhoods. They pay attention to peers, neighbors and surroundings in ways adults often overlook. Youth Safety and Violence Prevention’s creative arts programming empowers youth to channel their local expertise and share their stories and visions. We focus on developing self-reflection, critical thinking and storytelling skills for analyzing the causes and impacts of community violence.

Join us Tuesday, March 21 from 6 to 8 p.m for YSVP's Story Squad Showcase at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts. You'll get to see live performances and multimedia productions from teens in Story Squad's Humboldt Park, Pilsen/Little Village and South Chicago cohorts. In past showcases, youth have shared their stories about the difficulties they can face on a daily basis: stories of self-reflection, critical thinking and storytelling skills to analyze the causes and impacts of community violence not too far from home.

Please join us to celebrate a night of YSVP’s creative arts programming!
