C-SPAN Bus Rolls into Town
On Wednesday, June 27, students from the Y’s Teen REACH programs were treated to a unique learning opportunity as the C-SPAN Bus visited Kelly Hall YMCA!
Students from Kelly Hall, the McCormick Tribune YMCA and Rauner Family YMCA climbed on board the bus to learn more about C-Span and the 2012 election. The bus – equipped with computer kiosks – linked students to C-SPAN’s video library, C-SPAN Classroom, their Congressional Chronicle and Book TV. The students tested their knowledge of public affairs with quizzes, learned about StudentCam and followed the road to the White House. In the "C-SPAN on the Go" section of the bus, they could download C-SPAN podcasts, test out mobile apps and access C-SPAN radio.
Thank you to C-SPAN for the opportunity – providing Y teens with an opportunity to connect to C-SPAN’s public affairs programming while providing a greater understanding of the network and their free resources.
